National institute of blood diseases and bone marrow transplantation is not only a centre of excellence for the management of blood disorders and bone marrow transplantation but an institute where research is going on in the field of haematology. Currently following research projects are in hand:

 

FVIIa as a haemostatic agent in uncontrolled massive PPH. An observational study. (on going)

An observational study of changing pattern of microbial infections in neutropenic patients during chemotherapy and / or stem cell transplantation (on going)

Treatment of Congenital Factor VII deficiency A prospective Observational Study (STER study ongoing till 2012)

Glanzmann Thrombasthenia Registry: A prospective observations study. Trial ID F7HAEM-3521 (GTR study ongoing till 2012)

A case control, single center study to investigate the efficacy, tolerability and safety of Hydroxyurea in b- thalassaemia major / intermedia patients at a dose of 15 mg/kg/day for 24 months (ongoing study till 2010)

Diagnostic accuracy of different RBC indices in differentiating iron deficiency anemia from ß Thalassemia trait during pregnancy

Protein C Global assay in the evaluation of women with Adverse Pregnancy Outcome. (will complete in 2010)
